However, keep in mind that proper testing is advisable to see if the material is suitable for your specific product.
Are PET bottles recyclable?
True. PET stands for Polyethylene Terephthalate, which is a completely recyclable type of plastic. Your containers can get a new life in the packaging industry, but also in fashion or even industrial strapping.
Is PET plastic safe to use for food packaging?
PET is approved by regulatory agencies such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) for use in food packaging. To keep your products in the best shape, store your containers in a cool and dry place.
Are PET jars and bottles fully waterproof?
Yes, but while PET plastic is impervious, not all types of caps for your container will provide a watertight seal. For liquids and water-based products, you might want to use EPE or induction liners rather than unlined caps or caps with pressure-sensitive (PS 22) liners.
What are caps with PS22 liners best for?
Powders, pills, spices and other dry products will be perfectly preserved by the PS 22 liner. It is not leakproof, though. The pressure-sensitive seal needs a dry land area to adhere to the bottle.
What is the purpose of an EPE liner?
Commonly used to avoid leakage, the EPE is a cost-effective cap liner. It’s best for liquids and water-based supplements. The EPE does not create an air barrier, so if you’re looking for this kind of seal, consider the heat induction liner.
What is induction cap sealing?
The induction seal cap is the most secure and tamper-evident closure option for your products. The liner is applied to the container with the use of an induction sealing machine, which makes it impossible to re-apply once meddled with.
